LIFE is a ten-part microdrama anthology from SHIRO & Co. exploring what remains human when AI works correctly.

The complete LIFE anthology presents ten observations from one continuous world in approximately three to four minutes.

Across ten short films, LIFE examines a quieter consequence of technological progress: what happens to human experience when systems become correct, efficient and difficult to argue against?

“Most stories about AI begin with malfunction. LIFE begins after that problem has been solved,” said Kosuke Shirako, founder and representative director of SHIRO & Co. “The systems are accurate, efficient and helpful. The question is whether a correct system can still leave a human being without language for what has been lost.”

A World Without Visible System Failure
LIFE moves across health, work, intimacy, education, care, administration and memory. Each episode focuses on a small human disturbance inside an otherwise smoothly functioning environment.

A medical assessment finds no abnormality. A hiring system evaluates a candidate before that person has the opportunity to gain experience. A relationship service provides reliable companionship. A recommendation system identifies the optimal choice. Work continues without visible disruption.
Nothing appears broken.

Yet each correct outcome changes the space in which a person can hesitate, refuse, learn, fail, remember or remain unresolved.
LIFE approaches AI ethics from this less visible boundary. Rather than depicting artificial intelligence as hostile or uncontrollable, the anthology considers what may happen when automated judgment becomes ordinary infrastructure and produces outcomes that appear reasonable.
The films do not present AI as either a villain or a solution. They preserve situations in which technological correctness and human experience no longer fully coincide.

Ten Observations From One Continuous World
The anthology consists of the following episodes:

A person watches a world that no longer needs visible failure.

The ten episodes can be viewed separately. They are also presented as a single continuous film lasting approximately three to four minutes.
From Serial Fiction to Microdrama

LIFE began as serial fiction published by SHIRO & Co. The microdrama edition translates the same fictional world into short audiovisual observations.
The films are not summaries of the written stories. Each film concentrates on one place, one disturbance, one human reaction and one remaining fragment.

Each microdrama uses a 9:16 vertical frame, black surfaces, thin borders and minimal controls. The films do not autoplay. Playback begins only after the viewer chooses to enter the work.

The presentation intentionally differs from the continuous and rapid consumption commonly associated with short-form video. Although the episodes are brief, the format leaves space between the observation and its interpretation.

One Observation, Multiple Forms
LIFE is also a narrative implementation of the working method used by SHIRO & Co.
Through the Kosuke Protocol, fragments from technology, markets, institutions and everyday life are observed, connected and interpreted before being translated into an appropriate form. The resulting form may become software, an observatory, a business proposal, fiction or film.
In LIFE, a shared observation moves through four forms:

An Archive of the Near Future
LIFE is presented as a digital screening-room archive rather than a conventional entertainment campaign.
Its purpose is not to predict a distant technological future. The anthology extends conditions that are already becoming recognizable: automated evaluation, synthetic relationships, disappearing entry-level work, optimized personal decisions and systems that operate without visible failure.
Together, the ten films form a record of a possible near future in which society continues to function while the remaining human work becomes harder to name.
