US Praises Kosovo for Support of Gaza Stabilization Force

(MENAFN) US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Friday expressed appreciation for Kosovo’s involvement in the International Stabilization Force operating in the Gaza Strip.

Following talks with Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani, Rubio highlighted what he described as Kosovo’s dedication to promoting peace and regional stability. He noted that he conveyed his gratitude to both the president and the people of Kosovo for their participation as a founding member of the Board of Peace.

"I also thanked President Osmani for her contributions to the International Stabilization Force in Gaza," Rubio wrote on US social media company X.

According to statements delivered a day earlier, Maj. Gen. Jasper Jeffers, who commands the ISF, revealed that five nations have agreed to provide personnel to the newly established security initiative.

Addressing attendees at the first official gathering of the Board of Peace in Washington, DC, Jeffers said Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo and Albania committed troops to the mission. He added that Egypt and Jordan would contribute by overseeing police training efforts.
