Trump Says Trade Deal with S. Korea Finalized
Trump arrived earlier in the day in Gyeongju, roughly 330 kilometers southeast of Seoul, for a series of summit meetings ahead of the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting. His schedule included talks with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung on Wednesday afternoon.
During a dinner hosted by Lee, Trump was asked if a trade accord had been reached. "We did," the U.S. president replied, offering no additional details about the agreement.
South Korea is set to host the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Gyeongju from Oct. 31 to Nov. 1.
