The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra Announces Leadership Transition

NEW ORLEANS, LA, UNITED STATES, October 2, 2025 /EINPresswire.com/ -- New Orleans Jazz Orchestra (NOJO) announced today that following an emergency meeting of its Board of Directors held Saturday September 27, 2025, it has parted ways with Artistic Director Adonis Rose effective immediately. NOJO is currently identifying Interim Artistic Director prospects after which a nationwide search will be conducted for a permanent appointment.

"As we proudly relaunch The New Orleans Jazz and Blues Market this evening, it is imperative that we put our best foot forward throughout our entire organization so that our leadership closely aligns with our core institutional values, goals and aspirations,” said Terrah Green, Chairman of the Board.

“Accountability. Oversight. Professionalism. Excellence. These are the pillars upon which we are rebuilding NOJO brick-by-brick. Under the clear-eyed guidance and governance of a new leadership team, NOJO’s reorganization efforts are uncompromisingly informed by both the humble recognition of our past malfeasances and a strict adherence to best practices moving forward.”

“Simply put, we are working diligently to put the "new" back into NOJO. To that end, we are ever-mindful of upholding our enormous responsibility to Crescent City musiclovers near and far, the legendary artists set to burn up The Market’s stage, our own GRAMMY® Award-winning NOJO collective, and, of course, the jazz world at-large.”

“As we continue striving to earn back your good faith, we kindly ask that you grant us grace. We will not let you down. In the immortal words of the late great James Brown, watch me!"

The New Orleans Jazz and Blues Market relaunches tonight October 1 with a pair of shows by GRAMMY® Award-winning and 8x-GRAMMY® nominated jazz guitarist and composer Bill Frisell (Bill Frisell Trio, October 1), followed by two evenings with multiPlatinum-selling, 2x-GRAMMY® Award-winner and 19x-GRAMMY® nominated jazz piano legend Bob James (Bob James Quartet, October 2-3.)
