Trump Cuts G7 Trip Short, Heads Back to Washington

(MENAFN) U.S. President Donald Trump will head back to Washington, DC, later Monday, concluding his involvement in the G7 summit held in Canada, according to an announcement from the White House.

"President Trump had a great day at the G7, even signing a major trade deal with the United Kingdom and Prime Minister Keir Starmer," White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt stated on X.

She added, "Much was accomplished, but because of what’s going on in the Middle East, President Trump will be leaving tonight after dinner with Heads of State."

When questioned about his unexpected early departure, Trump told reporters, "I have to be back early for obvious reasons."

"I wish I could stay for tomorrow, but they understand this. This is big stuff," he continued.
"You probably see what I see, and I have to be back as soon as I can."

Media revealed that Trump had instructed the National Security Council to remain on high alert in the situation room.

Earlier in the day, the President urged civilians in Tehran to evacuate “immediately” amid intensifying tensions between Israel and Iran.

"Iran should have signed the ‘deal’ I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again!" Trump declared on his Truth Social platform.

He added, "Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!"

The situation has escalated sharply since Friday, when Israel launched coordinated airstrikes and drone attacks targeting multiple locations across Iran, including military and nuclear sites. Tehran responded with retaliatory strikes, heightening the conflict further.
