Wildlife Biologist Patrick Morrow Honored as 60th Inductee to WSMR Hall of Fame
The ceremony, led by WSMR Garrison Commander Col. Michael Lueckeman, recognized Morrow’s decades of dedication and his lasting contributions to the range’s mission. The Hall of Fame, established in 1980, honors individuals whose achievements have advanced WSMR’s mission and legacy.
“Over 35 years, Patrick became a steady and trusted presence at White Sands Missile Range—a person who understood the land, respected the mission, and met every challenge with professionalism, humility and calm resolve,” Lueckeman said. “Your leadership guided the range through complex land management responsibilities that demanded careful coordination, thoughtful communication and a deep respect for both the mission and the environment.
“You built strong partnerships across state and federal agencies while ensuring WSMR remained the military’s model for balancing mission execution with responsible stewardship of the land entrusted to us.”
Morrow retired in 2024 after 35 years of service. Reflecting on his career, he said, “Over my career, I was able to work with numerous great professionals from WSMR and multiple other federal and state natural resource agencies.”
Morrow said he and his family plan to travel more now that he has an open schedule.
Morrow oversaw agreements protecting the state-endangered pupfish, ensuring that range activities did not harm the species’ habitat or threaten its population.
“Patrick, your legacy is one of service, integrity, and quiet leadership. Thank you for your 35 years of dedicated service,” said Lueckeman.
